Group lessons with Trina

  • Group classes are offered as a complimentary class to private lessons upon student interest

  • Group classes explore Suzuki repertoire, ensemble playing, improvisation, cross genre repertoire (ie. jazz, pop, folk, world, raga-inspired).

  • Special workshops available (see below)

WORKSHOPS AND EDUCATIONAL PERFORMANCES

Arun and Trina offer a unique experience for students and professional string players - in creative and fundamental approaches to South Indian Classical music. The violin has been a principle instrument in Carnatic music for several hundred years and has evolved in technique, style and expression. Their workshop gives insight into historical and cultural contexts of the music, players who revolutionized the instrument, specific violin techniques (gamakas), compositional structures and approaches to Raga (modes) and Tala (rhythm). They also explore creative applications for students of all ages and levels.
